This data was collected as part of an ACT Government project monitoring the effects of fire, both prescribed fire and wildfire, in the subalpine woodlands of Namadgi National Park. This project is ongoing and acoustic data have been collected annually since spring 2020 from 64 sites stratified by fire history and fire severity. Acoustic data were recorded using Song meters and Bat meters.
Recorders are deployed for a minimum of ten days and programmed to collect 4:30 hours of data at dusk and dawn with recording starting 30 minutes before sunset and sunrise with the Song Meters recoding continuously and the Bat Meters collecting triggered recordings over this period. Site locations have been generalised to 500m. ACT Government Online Maps and Apps users can access full resolution data through https://actgov.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=9081a4f6287a4f7898ecfc9f7579f017
These audio recordings are in the process of being processed and analysed.
Monitoring has been conducted from Spring to Summer and over calendar years. For this reason, points have been organised by Rounds rather than years. Round 1: September 2020-December 2020 Round 2: September 2021-December 2021 Round 3: September 2022-January 2023
Points have been named by type of recorder, monitoring Round and site id. SM_R1_B20HR0HI-2 > Song Meter data from Round 1 Sites have been named by fire history, fire intensity and replicate number. Further information on each site has been included in the metadata associated with each point.
